The mission of the NH Statewide Family Engagement Center (NH-SFEC) is to improve educational outcomes of NH students by connecting families, schools, and communities as partners in the academic success and social-emotional wellbeing of our children statewide.

How We Work

The NH-SFEC leverages proven, evidence-based frameworks and programs to build capacity of local educators and families, elevate family voice in educational policies, programs, and decision making, and form a statewide infrastructure for sustained family partnership in education. Specifically, using Dr. Karen Mapp’s dual capacity framework for family engagement, we work both locally and at the statewide level to help schools, families, and communities build the essential conditions for success. Based on decades of research, Dr. Joyce Epstein’s 6 types of involvement for comprehensive family, school, and community partnerships serves to guide our program development with both schools and families.

Statewide Advisory Council

The NH-SFEC maintains an Advisory Council composed of educators, administrators, community organization representatives and parents and caregivers, and we meet 4 times a year to elevate best practices in Family Engagement around the state, ensure caregiver voice is centered in our various programs, and align resources and opportunities to better serve NH educators and families. If you are a parent or caregiver and would like to join our Advisory Council, take a moment to fill out this interest form.

Our Consortium

We believe that in harnessing the strengths of our two organizations jointly, we can advance systemic change to improve educational outcomes for New Hampshire’s children and families. Campus Compact for New Hampshire (CCNH) and Partners for Rural Impact (PRI) work together in Consortium to establish the Statewide Family Engagement Center in New Hampshire.

Campus Compact for New Hampshire is a non-profit organization led by New Hampshire’s colleges and universities that are committed to making a positive impact in New Hampshire communities. Our goal is to improve educational outcomes for New Hampshire students through P-20 collaborations. We partner with K-12 schools, community partners and businesses to support students in reaching their full potential.

Partners for Rural Impact is the leading organization working to ensure that all rural youth ages 0-24 years are on a path to upward mobility. Using a cradle–to– career and place-based approach, we operate at the local, state, and national levels to accelerate outcomes for the 14 million children and youth living in rural America.
